ABOUT IMMRSE
IMMRSE is an initiative led by Dr. Thomas Dawson to connect who aims to further research and connect our expertise with companies, to translate cutting-edge research in microbiology to meet industry needs.

IMMRSE places the spotlight on fungi and bacteria as they are wildly fascinating and share many similar properties yet strikingly distinct.

Myco-microbiology has an enormous impact on our everyday lives. We can find these microorganisms in almost all our surroundings, our body (on and in us!), our food, basically nearly every nook and cranny in our lives.

In early Earth, microbes helped to create an oxygen-rich atmosphere and contributed to fertile soil that allows plants to thrive. Through modern times, the discovery of microbes advance infection control policies in hospitals, development of microbes-derived vaccines and drugs. Microbes are involved in fermention (food) to boost flavours and extend shelf life. We simply cannot live without these essential microbes.
